슬픔을 위한 자리 (2024년 3월 17일)

 

고아가 된 지 33일.

유명한 사람들의 삶을 엮은 기록이 역사라면

평범한 사람의 일생은 그가 겪은 슬픔의 기록일지

모릅니다.

 

낯선 고아 생활, 책과 음악 덕에 견디고 있습니다.

'우리는 슬픔 속에서만' 자람을 기억하며

가슴 한쪽에 슬픔을 위한 자리를 내고 있습니다.

Peace of Mind

 

You're not getting stronger or slower

You're not growing, but just getting old

You gotta set aside a spot for sorrow

so you can live with it and have peace of mind 

We only grow when we're in sorrow

We only move when we need a place to stay

and we can be complete, only when we're broken

to find what really matters, we have to lose everything

 

You'll try to get rid of it, hope it's gone

but it'll be with you until you’re gone

Sorrow won't follow you, it won't hunt you down

It will always be you searching for peace of mind

We only grow when we're in sorrow

We only move when we need a place to stay

and we can be complete, only when we're broken

to find what really matters, we have to lose everything

 

 

마음의 평화

 

강해지는 것도 느려지는 것도 아니에요

자라는 게 아니라 그냥 늙어가는 거죠 

슬픔이 찾아오면 자리를 내주세요 

안고 살며 마음의 평화를 가질 수 있게

우리는 슬픔 속에서만 자랍니다

머물 곳이 절실해야만 떠날 수 있고 

부서진 후에야 완전해질 수 있기에 

정말 소중한 걸 알려면 모든 걸 잃어야 해요

 

당신은 슬픔을 지우려 할 거고 성공하길 바라지만 

슬픔은 사라지지 않을 거예요, 당신이 사라지는 날까지

슬픔은 당신을 쫓아오지 않겠지만

당신은 늘  마음의 평화를 찾으려 애쓰겠지요

우리는 슬픔 속에서만 자랍니다
